Prequalifications for Boilers and Furnaces

Which plan(s) your boiler or furnace qualifies for will be determined by our straightforward Prequalifying Checklist. The main component of this checklist is the age of your boiler/furnace. While all three plans require that you are a Simple Energy fuel customer, the Simple Plan has no other prequalifications.

Coverage is 100% for parts, labor, tune-ups, and emergency service! Yes, you read that correctly, 100%!
50/50
Annual tune-up is covered 100%. Any other boiler or furnace service is 50% off parts and off our preferred labor rate. We share the costs 50/50.

No qualifications other than being a fuel customer:

Annual Reward Credit

At some point, your boiler or furnace will need to be replaced. Whether it’s to increase efficiency, ensure safe and reliable operation, or to avoid the cost of continued maintenance, we can help with that expense. For every year you had or will have a consecutive boiler of furnace plan with us, we will add $100 worth of loyalty credits to your account, redeemable when a new boiler or furnace is purchased from and installed by Simple Energy.

Exclusions, Terms & Conditions, Tune-Up Coverage

Yes, of course, there is “fine print” but you don’t need a lawyer, a technician’s license, or frustrations with invoices to understand what your service plan does and does not cover. Please review our user-friendly Exclusions, Terms & Conditions, Tune-Up Coverage (coming soon), and the specific Whole House Service Plan for more information. Let us know if you have any questions or if any clarification is needed.

Timing and Enrollment

All these new plans are available February 1, 2025. For those customers with an existing boiler, furnace and/or water heater plans that renew after January 31, 2025, you will automatically be enrolled in the 50/50 plan for your boiler or furnace plan and/or the appropriate water heater plan. You of course then have three options - you can opt out altogether, instead select the Simple plan for your boiler/furnace, or wait to see if your system qualifies for the Complete Care plan once the Prequalifying Checklist is completed. If you have already been told your heating system will not qualify for a new service plan, then the Simple plan is the one for you.

For those customers who are new to our service plans, have a lapsed boiler/furnace plan, or for anyone who would like to enroll in one or more of the supplemental whole house plans, just let us know calling 603-298-7200 or emailing info@SimpleEnergyOnline.com. We will review any information we have on your boiler or furnace and schedule a prequalifying visit if necessary.

Exclusions on Boiler & Furnace Service Plans

We can all agree no one likes “fine print” and who really reads it until there is an issue? But it is necessary, especially in a business that frankly many customers don’t know a lot about. (And that’s okay, that’s why we have trained, licensed, and experienced technicians maintaining and repairing your boiler or furnace,) Our goal is to simplify our service plans and not have any exclusions that are vague or confusing.

All three of our service plans for oil/propane boilers and furnaces require the customer to be on automatic fuel delivery. The Simple plan has no other exclusions while the Complete Care and 50/50 plans have all or some of the following exclusions.

 

General Exclusions for Complete Care & 50/50 Boiler and Furnace Service Plans

  • Add-On Controls: digital programmable thermostats, outdoor reset controls, programmable building management systems, supplemental combustion air systems, and WiFi thermostat and support devices.
     
  • Commercial and Unit Size: no commercial units, units over 3.0 gallons per hour for oil, and over 200,000 BTUs per hour for propone.
     
  • Electrical Distribution Wiring: all electrical wiring not installed by Simple Energy, circuit breaker, and wiring not on the heating unit, including thermostat wiring.
     
  • Fuel Delivery
     
    • Heating oil: fill and vent piping, frozen lines, gauges, oil tanks, safety valve, supply and return lines, and vent alarms.
    • Propane: customer-owned tanks and their line pressure regulators and piping.
       
  • Heat Distribution Components:
    ​​
    • Hydronics: baseboard heaters, heat distribution piping, radiant manifolds, radiant tubing, and radiators.
    • Warm air furnace: duct work, electronic air filters, heating registers, and zone dampers.
       
  • Heating Systems: baseboards, combination units (coal/oil or coal/propane and wood/oil or wood/propane), kick space heaters, panel radiators, radiant systems, radiators, and roof top units.
     
  • Malfunctions due to: blown fuses or tripped breakers (unless due to a covered part failure), damage as a result of a failed component even if component is covered by our service plan, damage caused by others, electrical failures unrelated to heating system, failure to manually feed boilers, failure to flush low water cut-offs, oil or water valves left off by customer, and switches left off by customer.
     
  • Venting Systems: chimneys, direct vent piping (vent and fresh air intake and terminations), draft inducers, outside terminations, polypropylene venting, power vents, PVC, and roof jacks.

Any excluded parts and services will be invoiced at Simple Energy’s prevailing rates.
